Just want to draw peoples attention to some key points (including updated contact details), on the forthcoming Manchester Mind Sports + Simultaneous Chess events to be held shortly in August.
Firstly, to urge players (including Juniors), to get sponsered (£5 or more), by friends and family and take on Scottish Chess Grandmaster, Jonathan Rowson in aid of the Kirsty Howard Charity Appeal. Prizes for all!

Also, to remind people that there are many events including Bridge, Backgammon, Othello, Go, Poker, Dominoes, Quiz events/ championships, chess tournaments, 5 Round Major and Minor weekend (Manchester) congresses 15th - 17th and 22nd - 26th August, Blitz, Quickplay, problem solving, etc, throughout the week. The venue at UMIST is close to Piccadilly Station, and there is an online entry form (see web site), and accomodation booking at UMIST.

I would particularly draw attention of Schools and juniors to events like the Quiz UK Schools Championships. I urge those with Schools and Junior connections to spread the message, because local schools I have spoken to are not aware of these, and other events that juniors can enter. There are events for all ages and abilities, from novice to expert.
