After eight very successful years Mike Crowther has resigned as
correspondence organiser. He has passed all the papers onto me but I have no time
for extra chess organising.
Indeed I am not coping with the amount I have to do at the moment. I am
therefore looking for a new captain for the correspondence team. The MCCU
competition which we enter a team of 16 starts on June 15th so we need to be
quick. We have a good team, 16 players in all. I am writing to them and to
the MCF committee asking if anyone will volunteer to be team captain. It is
not a difficult job and does not take up too much time. You raise a team.
Send out the pairings. Get the results back as they finish their games and
send them off to the MCCU organiser. The captain also organises the BCF
team which is a similar event. This competition starts in Autumn.
Should we not have a volunteer we will not raise a MCCU team and of course
the future of our BCF team will be in doubt. So I very much hope someone
will volunteer and quickly.
Best Wishes
