I`m wondering whether the message forum should be renamed `Discussion Board`.
I`m one of the few users of this, and it could be that people have not latched on to the fact that a, they can post messages on it, and b...that is its purpose.
Perhaps a note of explaination on the news section, just reminding people that it is for general use of all, and for people to post comments, information, etc.
Maybe you might wish to comment on this at the next MCF meeting to see what people think.
Another news item that might be worth mentioning is the fact that the new season is now underway, and clubs should consider an advert in the local press about there club activities, welcoming new members of all ages and standards. Notices in local libraries, schools, and Post Offices can also be very helpful in making people aware that there are chess clubs in there area who would be pleased to see them! I am aware that the press are not always very responsive, but its worth a shot. Adverts should also mention the MCF website for further information.
