Who we are
Chorlton Chess Club is a large and growing club with a friendly atmosphere. Members come from all over Manchester and vary considerably in strength and commitment. People come to the Chorlton club because whether they want a serious game at long tome controls (or without a clock) or an informal friendly game, it's all here.

Where we are
We hire two rooms at St. John's Social Club on the corner of High Lane and Chequers Road in Chorlton , South Manchester - Check out this map. Club nights are on Tuesdays from 7:30 up to about 11:30 or midnight. We have a quiet upstairs room for any matches and a larger downstairs room for more casual chess. There is also a bar downstairs should you require any refreshments.

What we charge
Adults : £38 per year
Unemployed, Retired, Students and Juniors : £22 per year
Potential members : £1 per night
Subs must be paid in full before before you are allowed to play any league chess.

We enter 5 teams in the Manchester Chess Federation Winter League
This event runs from October to May

We enter 7 teams in the South East Lancashire Chess Association Summer League
This event runs from June to August

We participate in the cup competition associated with this league :
