I spent a lot of time constructing model ships in my youth.  I began with plastic construction kits but soon progressed to building scale models from scratch, using working drawings.  The model shown here, a Royal Naval Brig from 1778, was built from scratch and was only about seven inches (18cm) long.  I deliberately left the decking and planking on the starboard side of the ship off, to show the intricate frames and beams of the ship.

I have recently taken up the interest again, so expect more on this page - at some point in the future!
