Printing Problems

Some printer drivers may be unable to handle the texture pattern used to draw track sections. If this occurs, the Outline Mode can be selected from the View menu or Toolbar to remove the texture.

Closing Circuits at Intersections

Closing a circuit incorporating the intersection track will only work if a complete circuit can be made, i.e the equivalent of a figure 8 circuit. SnapTrack cannot complete a circuit using the intersection if the layout results in one node of the section being joined directly to its opposite node .i.e the equivalent of two rings.

Difficulties Closing Circuits at Intersections

SnapTrack includes a feature for trying to mimic the slack that occurs with a physical layout and snapping two sections together to complete a circuit. Trying to close a circuit at an intersection on very long circuits can lead to unexpected results. Always try to complete a circuit on a relatively simple part of the track, e.g on a long straight, rather than at the intersection or close to a complex curve.

Tweaking Joints Limitations

SnapTrack includes a facility where you can manually tweak the connections between sections thereby mimicking the slack that may occur on a real track. Because the intersection is constrained at 4 points this feature is only approximated. The connections at 90 degrees to the tweaked joint will not be adjusted.
