The NEW RunUO Server
I am currently running RunUO beta 34. Although the current release is beta 36 I have not thought it necessary to change yet, as it requires many script file changes.
Shard Tools
The main shard tool required by GM's is Pandoras Box. This will help a GM to perform most funtions.
Why Change did we change from UOX3
The new server has a few hundred people busy writing code for it. It will be bang up to date with UO (I have changed us to the latest client). It is very easy for a programmer (possibly non programmer as well) to write code for it. Most of the code is in the form of Script files (C# code) and this script is compiled on server up. To implement a change is easy. I have already done some. It will be easy for another GM to add to the code as all they have to do is send me the new script file and I just put it into the correct directory, server down server up and it running.
Other Advantages
It already looks like there are going to be major advances in the game with this server (it also appears to be quite stable). The crafting tools are going to be the same as the current version of UO.
How do I get started
You need a current version of UO and download UoRice (this includes a new login.cfg file) off the website (http://www.worldofkrynn.co.uk). New players will need to download the map0 and the statics/staidx files. These files need to be copied into the UO directory (if you intend to use the same UO directory for normal UO make a backup of the following files Map0, statics, staidx and login.cfg). The game is started by executing Ignition.
To login to the server you will need to request an account. Please submit the required account name and password. Anyone who has logged into Krynn on any previous RunUo version should still haave the original account name and password.
