The ideas laid out on this page are not yet definite rules and are open for discussion.
These Ideas have been updated to explain more because of the server change to RunUo. Where certain things were already implemented on the UOX server the Scripts etc still need to be written for the RunUO server.
Banks are to work on a local basis. Going to a bank and saying "bank" will open a bank box that will take gold only. This gold will be available at every bank. Going to a bank and saying "local bank" will open two bank boxes, one box is the same as if you said bank. but the other box is an item container and you can put anything in it including money. The contents of this box are only available at that bank. So players need to think carefully about where they are banking items.

Other than bankers there will only be player run vendors in the game (some vendors will be GM run for use in non GM run quests). Players are able to place vendors anywhere in the game. But are only allowed to place them in shops in towns. These shops will have a plaque that licenses them for a quantity of vendors. Any excess vendors will be deleted and any vendors found to be empty for more than five days will be deleted ( unless there is a prior arrangement due to a holiday etc ). Vendors must sell the type of goods for the shop they are in as defined in UO. Players will not be punished for placing Vendors in illegal areas, but the vendors will be deleted when found by a GM. So if a player wants to take a risk and place a vendor in the wilderness its up to them. Vendors will be limited to two per account and craftsman chars will start with a free vendor. There will be plenty of legal places for players to place vendors in the game.
Houses currently work the same as UO including AOS. The ideas below may never happen as they are pre AOS.
Players will be able to buy land from GM's. A sign will be posted and the players name put on it. When the player can afford it a GM will build them a house on the site (this will mean no OSI houses on the shard). When the player can afford it he can have the house altered or made larger. This will give GM's control of where houses are built and we can make sure they fit with the surrounding and do not interfere with the game. It also gives a player something to aspire to as the houses will be expensive. The land and houses will be charged on a per tile basis.
This is in addition to Lillandra's houses. All new accounts are given a treehouse in Solace. This gives a new player a sound base and helps keep players together to start (its a big world out there). To make it a little harder there will not be a bank in Solace. Players will be given 3 newbie keys for all their chars. Players will be able to buy houses or rent rooms in towns. Depending on the number of accounts and the number of houses in Solace players may be asked to give up their Solace house if they own another.
I would like us to limit it to three characters per account. That lets a player have a craftsman on their account.
As this is something that is difficult to prove. I think we should allow muling of chars. For those that don't understand the term, muling is using a craftsman to earn all the money and then passing the proceeds to their main char.
It is easy to create and delete a char on this shard. A player Caught creating and deleting chars to earn money will have all their chars deleted and have to start again. I know this seems harsh but this is the worst form of cheating. If a player wants to delete a char he needs to either ICQ me or inform a GM. There are log files that store the information on created and deleted chars on an account, so I can tell what has happened.
ONCE AGAIN THERE WILL BE MORE CONTROL WITH RunUo SHOULD BE ABLE TO STOP PLAYER DELETIONS.
PVP is allowed but if a player becomes a murderer and then dies he remains dead.
I THINK WE WILL NEED TO MODIFY THIS IDEA
We will have normal GM run quests and in addition to this we will have areas that require a team of players to reach an area. There will either be special vendors in this area and the players may need to pay for the items. Items that are available in these areas are not available elsewhere ie better weapons etc. The town of Sanction is one of these areas, it can only be accessed by passing through a cave. The reason for having these areas is that it does not require a GM online for people to go on a quest.
Originally skill gain for fighters / mages was going to be governed by their karma levels (there are lists for this I will add to sight at a later date). Craftsmen would make skill gains in the normal way. It works this way players get a fixed amount of karma for killing a monster, when his karma get above a certain level he gets a skill/str/int/dex gain across the range of skills his character/race class. If a player dies he loses say about 10% of his karma but cannot drop skill levels, it will just take him longer to get to the next level.
I DO NOT KNOW IF WE CAN DO THIS WITH THE RunUo SERVER YET. BECAUSE IT IS IN BETA WE NEED TO WAIT FOR IT TO DEVELOP FURTHER
This again already existed for UOX but does not exist in RunUo yet. i gather that it is Scriptable in RunUo and there is a good chance of someone writing the script for us as someone is already working on it that posts on the RunUo website.
RACE SCRIPTS DO EXIST FOR RUNUO NOW BUT I HAVE NOT IMPLEMENTED ANY YET.
