Transfer Your VHS Videos To DVD

About the DVD

Your material will be copied onto DVD-R discs. Most modern DVD players will play this format but some older machines do not. If you have any doubt ask for a demonstration DVD to try in your machine.

A DVD-R can hold up to about 2 hours of material which includes the Menu. More can be placed on the disc but it is necessary to reduce the quality which we don't recommend.

The price includes the first DVD in a library DVD case with a standard printed sleeve. A personalised sleeve design can be produced to a standard format at extra cost.

Unless otherwise specified, the picture shape will be the same as the original material, i.e. widescreen material will remain widescreen and standard will remain standard. We can change formats but only to order.

DVD provides better quality pictures and sound than VHS. This does not mean that your DVD will look and sound any better than it did as a VHS tape. It does mean that, with careful handling and storage, your treasured videos will not wear out or degrade with use and you will get many more years of enjoyment from them.

Different countries use different standards for their TV, Video and DVD. In the UK we use PAL-I and all DVDs will be produced for this standard. Talk to us if you want the copy in another standard (for example for a relative in the USA).

Is It Legal?

Yes! Steve Feeney productions will copy your home movies on the understanding that you have the right to copy them.

It is illegal to copy commercially bought tapes or videos recorded from the TV or other copyrighted sources.

It is possible that the original production house will give consent to make a personal backup of your child's school production etc. We will attempt to obtain that consent on your behalf but will not copy without it.

Sound Track

As a professional production house Steve Feeney Productions is not prepared to break copyright. If you choose to have any background music it will be royalty free taken from a large library of tracks. We'll select music that is appropriate to the subject matter from this library. If you prefer to use commercially available music we can obtain the necessary licence. The cost of which will depend on the amount of music used.

Confidentiality & Privacy

We guarantee that your personal videos will not be shared with anybody else and any temporary computer files created as part of the DVD authoring process will be deleted at the end of the process.

We have no interest in "judging" your personal videos. We will only monitor to maintain the standards of our service.

Steve Feeney Productions will not transfer any material that is considered sexually explicit or violent.
