This site is basically a place which allows me to make my software available to others.
Its creation in 2005 followed the conversion from Windows XP to Gentoo Linux as the main operating system on my PCs (though I have since switched to Ubuntu). I had dabbled with Linux in the past but this time I have managed to successfully bend it to my will and create a system that I'm very happy with.
The deal was clinched for me when I was writing the France 2 Streaming News Script with my good friend Liam. There was a particular problem that needed to be solved and I found that it could be solved very quickly by modifying the code of an existing program written by someone else and integrating this into the script. This was followed by a period of great excitement - how amazing it was to be able to do this. I know that there is plenty of open source software for Windows, but virtually EVERYTHING is free and open source in the Linux world.
I felt that it was only right, therefore, for me to share our creation (made available, of course, under the GNU General Public License), just as the sharing of MMS RIPPER had enabled us to produce our creation.
This is the beginning of something beautiful...
