Overview:

LocoTrack opens with a Form where the six main databases, Locomotives, Diesel Multiple Units, Electric Multiple Units, Coaches, Non Passenger Carrying Stock and Wagons can be accessed.

In addition, there are links to databases containing Livery Codes, Allocation codes and Pool Codes.

Each database section is accessed separately through Forms.  These forms have different formats to suit a particular task.  For example, there are forms which give an overview of data, forms to enter Sightings or Haulage or Photographs, forms to view data and forms to Update data.

Each Form is a mixture of historical data, existing TOPS data and blank fields for entry of your own data, including a notes.

Sightings, Haulage and Photo data can be entered as a simple tick box (just like underscoring a number in a book) or if the user wants to input more detail, they can use the Sightings, Haulage and Photo Input forms to record all their details.  These details are then linked to the historical and TOPS data in the database in the Summary Forms.

Records can easily be found using the Find button on every Form, which will find specific data in any of the fields on the Form.

Each Form can be Filtered to select one category or multiple categories.  For example, the records could be filtered to show all operational Class 37's in EWS livery; or all class 47's seen on 1st March 1999.

The data on the Forms can also be viewed as a table in Datasheet view, if required, and Printed, to show all the data or just Filtered data. The Datasheet view is also useful for bulk editing of data.  Each table can be modified to show specific columns of data.

In addition, there are Pre-set Printed Reports for common requirements, like Operational Locos - Not Seen.

Version 3 is improved from previous versions of LocoTrack  in two significant ways.

·        Users can input a virtually unlimited number of Sightings, Photos and Haulage

·        TOPS data and Historical records can be easily updated without affecting the data which has been inputted by the user

The users’ data is linked to TOPS data and Historical data through Summary Forms

For DMU's and EMU's, records can be presented either in coach or units order.
