About us

The club was formed in 1991 with a nucleus of 11 members, there are 3 of the founder members with the club to date and an active 56 running membership with a strong social side of non- running members partners.
We were formed under the name of Lincoln and District Road Running Club and were based at Birchwood Leisure Centre for our Tuesday night meetings. The club colours were black vests with a white named logo.
During the last few years the club drifted into the doldrums through habit and routine, at the A.G.M. in February 2002, it was decided that this had gone on for long enough and it was time for some radical changes, as agreed by all the members.
The club name was changed to Lincoln and District Runners, the club colours were changed to emerald vest with a black side panel and a logo on the left hand side of the vests, we decided to relocate to North Hykeham Sports Centre, where we have been made to feel part of the centre and the staff have given us every support we could have asked for.
Since this re-launch the interest in the club has grown and we have several new members on board.
All though we have made these changes, one thing that remains the same is our open, friendly attitude and warm welcome to all. We encourage people of all standards to join us, whether they wish to run to keep fit, race or just the social side of running with others. On club nights we all run together and no one gets left behind.
We have several planned social events throughout the year and an annual weekend challenge, which has taken us around various parts of the country for many enjoyable running and social weekends.

We are affiliated to Athletics U.K. and participate in road running, races, fell races, cross-country, triathlons and marathon running.
The annual subs are £22.00 for full membership and £11.00 for concessions.
