Cask Marque Plaque

Cask Marque

The quality of beer in cask is better than it has ever been, but all too often that quality is less than satisfactory at the point of dispense.
Concerns were underlined by an independent survey of 1,000 pubs (Research).
Among its findings, the survey showed that one in five pints sold were of poor quality.
The Customer demands refreshing, consistent quality.
That challenge must be met.
That is why the Cask Marque Scheme has been introduced .
All pubs that are Cask Marque approved will show the CASK MARQUE PLAQUE shown.

Cask Marque Stands for:

  • Excellence in the service of cask ale.
  • Awarded to the licensee rather than to the pub.
  • Jointly funded by brewers and retailers.
  • Inspections made twice a year.

"CAMRA sees quality as a vital factor in increasing the popularity of cask beer and warmly welcomes the Cask Marque initiative as a positive way of tackling the issue problem."
David Goodwin Past Chairman of CAMRA

Look out for the Cask Marque Plaque shown above.
This guarantees beer quality in the outlet and the opportunity to TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.
