Chris Maskell Surgery Special

Chris Maskell has often been compared to a former Tottenham midfield legend. Due to his amazing skill on the ball, and the ability to change the game in the blink of an eye the comparisons were always going to be inevitable. Add to this their seemingly cursed luck with injuries, you would be excused for thinking that Chris Maskell and Darren Anderton were brothers.

On Sunday, a near tragedy occurred as Chris Maskell uncharacteristically went in for a tackle. It was obvious that the two players competing in the 50-50 weren't comfortable with this aspect of the game and a collision was inevitable. Maskell came out the worse, and soon his leg was gushing with claret.

Referee Leonard Simpson's early prognosis of a "deep graze" was later described by Dr. Moominjeet (no relation of RCF superstar Akash Moominjeet) as "Absolutely not very good".

Chris Maskell was stretchered off the pitch, and rushed to the local Accident and Emergency by myself, RCF Webmaster and all-round nice guy, Oliver Codpiece, as the match played it's final minutes.

Chris Maskell's surgery was a success, and he should again be flying the green flag for Fantana and leading the troops out within the month.

Inside the hospital, the journalist in me reared it's head, and I sensed an exclusive. Here is that exclusive, as I give you pictures of Chris Maskell inside the hospital as he receives treatment.
