Managers Notes

1st June 2005 - Firstly, I would like to take the time to thank you for visiting our website. We here at Racing Club Fantana Football Club truly appreciate your loyal support, and believe with you behind us, we are capable of taking this club places beyond our wildest imaginations.

For those who do not recognise me, I am Bradley Micallef, and I have been fortunate enough to be made manager of what is already shaping up to be a great club, and I'm raring to get this campaign started. I can understand some people will be asking about my qualifications, and credentials, and why I feel I am the right man to take this club in the right direction. Well, to those people, I just ask for time and patience, for me to prove what I do have in my locker, and what I can bring to this job.

As a new team, getting a useful squad of players together is paramount. I already have the nucleus of a strong team, but require a few more players to really give us the right blend of youth and experience. This can only happen with the backing of the board who I know are 100% behind what I want to achieve.

They have provided me with funds to bring in already established footballers in and around the Saturday and Sunday league circuit. Without risk of being taken to court for ‘tapping up’ orders, I’d like to share with you a small amount of people we are trying to tempt to Racing Club.

The first is a gritty, aggressive and determined man by the name of Darren Waife. Centre midfield is his trade, although he can also operate as a highly efficient centre back. This lad has a real ability to combine the holding skills of Claude Makelele and the explosive forward running of Kieron Dyer. If unable to secure the services of this unique lad, I will turn my attention to West Hams Nigel Reo-Coker. Hopefully things won’t get that far….

Chris Maskell is the next player I am interested in. He comes with a very high pedigree having played for Hale End Athletic for a number of years. A prolific striker who likes to drop off and play people in, has confessed to me he see’s himself more of a midfield maestro in his later years. When I think of Chris on the ball, I reminisce of a time when Trevor Brooking was at his peak. This lad makes Kaka look like an amateur. I believe we have a strong case with this boy. Would be a fans favourite if he pulled on the green and white.

A youngster by the name of Terri Prati is next on my list. This is guy is so versatile he makes Phil Neville look limited. He can play in either full back spot, any of the midfield berths and I’d put my clipboard on him making a dynamic centre forward. Comfortable on the ball, strong in the tackle, boyish good looks – The lads got it all. I’m hoping the signing of older brother Rikki can make all the difference.

Romford Town striker David Day is another player that excites me. He’s small, quick, responsive and to top it off, a great finisher. This lad has always shied away from Sunday football because of sleep commitments, but I’m hoping my persuasive techniques can make him a Racing Club legend. David’s experience could prove vital in a push for Corinthian promotion.

O’Gradys utility man Michael Farley is a guy who really gets a manager salivating. Having worked with “Mike” at Inter Crack, I know what makes him tick. He’s hungry, determined and sometimes wild – You will always get 100% from this guy regardless of the previous night’s entertainment! I believe this guy to be the most difficult target as O’Gradys have just been promoted to the Corinthian Leagues equivalent of the Premiership. Come on Mr Chairman, get that cheque book out…

Now I have singled out some of my transfer targets for the summer, I am hoping the clubs fan base will stay faithful and back us to the hilt. Like I say, with the right players on board – We’re dangerous.

Take care, speak soon and remember to keep that football on the deck,

The Gaffer
