TT

TT
originally came into our care on 23 December 2002 aged 6 or
7 years.
He is one of two cats who were abandoned in Runcorn after
their owner moved house.
The other cat was homed but TT, who is a Manx cat, was found
to have problems with both of his eyes.
One eye was enlarged and swollen, looking like a marble, due
to glaucoma and the other eye contained a cataract, which
was too far advanced for a remedial operation.
TT
is, therefore, blind, although the vet says that he may be
able to distinguish shapes as dark and light areas.
The
eye with glaucoma was removed on 28 December 2002 and TT will
now have to remain in permanent care.
He has adjusted very well and even ventures out into the garden,
putting his head down and using his ears to detect objects
when walking around.
The vet who treated him says that his problems probably began
about 4 years ago and his sight could have been saved if he
had been treated at the time.
However, he is now coping well and is happy and contented.
