Skippy
Skippy
is a tortie and white who went missing from her home for
2 weeks.
CHAR
were called out on the evening that she returned home as
she was injured.
She
had an eye injury and was unable to walk due to a problem
with one of her back legs.
She was immediately taken to the vets who confirmed that
her back leg was broken and a sharp object had entered her
eye.
The
vet suspected that her injuries were probably received two
weeks before when she originally went missing, since her
back leg had started to knit together.
She
was X-rayed the following day, but due to the broken bones
in her leg and the delay in treating her, the leg had to
be amputated at the shoulder.
Her eye also had to be removed.
CHAR had helped Skippy's owner on a previous occasion when
Skippy was spayed, but she decided that she could not afford
to treat and keep her so she handed her over for care.
Skippy, who is 2½ years old, now lives with a member
of CHAR who specialises in homing cats with disabilities.
She is happy, healthy and very friendly.
