Maureen Galvani was born in Overton, Hampshire, and studied at Winchester Art College and Cambridge College of Art and Technology. She worked for Dinosaur Publications, a children's book publisher, for six years and since leaving has worked as a Freelance Illustrator for a great variety of publishers, editorials, card and games manufacturers. She is also the author of four of the many children's books she has illustrated.

She works in watercolour, gouache and crayon and has recently experimented with collage.
