Whitwell Steam & Country Fair - Saturday 6th June 2009

The annual Whitwell Steam Fair changed venue in 2008 and is now held in the nearby village of Codicote. The event continues to be held in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
A variety of traction engines were on display, with many lining up together in the ring.
There was also a Stanley steam car, three steam lorries and an unusual "home built" machine!
Some exhibits remained on their transport, while others were displayed in action, and some exhibitors had accomodation wothy of closer inspection.
A Variety of miniature traction engines were on display too.
Many of the miniature engines joined the full sized machines in the ring.
"Mary" is a large scale model of a Burrell traction engine.
There were over 100 tractors of all sizes and vintages. Most made it into the ring for an impressive line up...
One very unusual exhibit was a dynamometer, used to test the power output of various tractors.
The fair included a set of traditional steam powered gallopers and an electrifying side show!
