There were seven steam locomotives and one diesel in operation on passenger services, with departures every thirty-five minutes.
A number of other interesting exhibits (steam and diesel) were on display at Pages Park Station and Stonehenge Works.

Sezela No.4 does not have a pump for air braking and so it was paired with CREEPY, the only diesel on passenger duties.
Meanwhile Peter Pan was similarly paired with Leighton Buzzard regular PC Allen.

The visiting German 0-8-0T only made a couple of single passenger trips during the day.
It is seen here having just come off its afternoon passenger duty.

In the yard at Pages Park was the only surviving locomotive of the class which originally ran at Leighton Buzzard.
This type has not been seen on the line for eighty-eight years! Let's hope it visits again when fully restored.

One of the first sights at Stonehenge Works is this fairly modern diesel "Peter Wood".
It is stored on the spur between the run-round loop and is mainly used for works trains.
|
 |
In complete contrast to Peter Wood were the 'armoured' and 'protected' Simplex locomotives.
The 'armoured' (grey) locomotive has recently been cosmetically restored and there are plans to return it to working order.

The unusual (and bright!) Simplex locomotive "Caravan" is a recent resoration project.
A variety of other Simplex petrol and diesel locomotives were displayed around Stonehenge Works.
The 3rd photo shows a close up of a Simplex diesel fitted with an exhaust whistle (see lower left of the picture).
