Magnificent
Monologues Vol 2. The title of this CD
from Bernard Wrigley, says it all. Because that's what it is. MAGNIFICENT! Inside
you'll find monologues from the "Old Masters" Marriott Edgar - Al Read - and
Stanley Holloway. Alongside more modern writers like - Mike Harding and John Bilsborough.
Each with their own unique brand of humour, and all brought bang up to date, in Bernard's
inimitable style. Musical accompaniment is provided by The Amblethwaite Colliery Band,
with Bert Terrace on the piano. (I jest you not). All superb tracks on this one, but, I
especially enjoyed "Our Maggie" - "The Wedding At 18 Clegg Street" -
"Albert And The Condom" and Albert And The Privy". But I'm sure that you'll
all have your own favourites if you give it a listen, there are that many to choose from,
15 in all. I have to admire the way that Bernard's found for doing "Ackroyds
Funeral", I always find the lines about the "Dog Sh**e" to be almost
impossible to say or to get the timing for. But he gets around this admirably, you really
must hear it! More details can be found on his site. http://www.bernardwrigley.com Below you'll find
the track listing:>
