Elvis And Me.

elvis_and_me_small.jpg (3625 bytes)  Another cracking effort by Steve Morris. He's sort of split it up (very cleverly) into three sections. The first section consists of 7 monologues and 2 tall tales. Recorded  "LIVE AT THE FUSCHIA ROOMS". The atmosphere is electric, and you almost feel like a fly on the wall.

Track Listing For Part One:> (Live At The Fuschia Rooms).

A Seasonal Request - Billy Bents Demise - The Parrot Story - Doin' It Parrot Fashion - A Boozers Week - Miss Fiswicks Office Blues - The Waiter Story - Santa's Cruel Joke - Why I Left The Scouts

Part 2 is recorded in a studio setting, and has 2 very funny monologues, that don't lose owt without the atmosphere from The Fuschia Rooms.

Track Listing For Part Two:> (Studio Scribblings).

A Drop O' Chocolate Sauce - A Husbands Tale

Part Three is also recorded in the studio, but this time the musical talents (and voice), of Bernard Wrigley come into play, (where does he get them voices from)?  Now I must admit, when Steve first mentioned he was doing some with Bernard, I thought. "It'll never work." Because, as you'll know they have completely differing styles, Steve's tends to be fast and "BUM BUM" to the point, if you know what I mean. Where as Bernard has a   more sedate and methodical pace. But I couldn't have been more off the mark, they gel together perfectly.

Track Listing For Part Three:> (Music & Voices with Bernard Wrigley).

A Grumpy Old Christmas - My Uncles Magic Lamp - The Ballad Of Corned Beef Brown And The Elvis Impersonator

That last track, Steve informs me that they've actually performed it live. WOW! That must take some doing, as you'll see if you hear it, it's very involved, and I must take my hat off to both of them, for even attempting it. All in all this is a very entertaining album, and worthy of shelf space in any collection. I think I should give one word of warning though, don't let your Granny listen to A Grumpy Old Christmas, as it could be a bit near to the bone for tender ears. Steve admits this himself, but it's still a good'n!
