IRC Download Help

To download anything on any IRC network, you will need an IRC Client, like mIRC (Windows users), Ircle (Mac users), or KOPETE (Linux Users) in order to download files. If you wish to explore other IRC clients, or if your operating system is not listed here, then visit dal.net, for a host of other IRC clients.

How to download in IRC rooms:

Most rooms allow the command !list type that in the room just like this: !LIST
Look at all the servers appear and see a server example like this:

<@stanmarsh14> File Server Online Triggers:«/ctcp stanmarsh14 South Park • /ctcp stanmarsh14 Films • /ctcp stanmarsh14 Music And Video • /ctcp stanmarsh14 FME General And Warez • /ctcp stanmarsh14 Adult» Sends:«0/2» Queues:«0/10» Accessed:«66 times» Online:«1/4» RCPS:«29.2 Kbs by mark8664» Served:«661MB in 53 files» Current BW:«9.4 Kbs» AQT:«No Wait»
(Note they are usually in COLOR)

Copy and paste the phrase after trigger:

Paste exact phrase in room as it is NO COLORS NO EXTRA LETTERS NO UNDERLINES

/ctcp stanmarsh14 South Park

Accept chat that pops up

wait for greeting message and type
DIR

Now, if it only shows folders like this:

[11:56am] <stanmarsh14> dir
[11:56am] <stanmarsh14> [\*.*]
[11:56am] <stanmarsh14> CLIPS & FILMS
[11:56am] <stanmarsh14> EPS
[11:57am] <stanmarsh14> GAMES

[11:57am] <stanmarsh14> End of list.

type CD FOLDERNAME

example
CD EPS

then

DIR

and get filepath selected

CD..

Always goes back one directory

To get a filename listed type:
GET FILENAME.EXTENSION
(don't be dumb select a file listed in the directory example)
get 707 - red man's greed.rm

NOTE: YOU DO NOT HAVE TO STAY CONNECTED ON SERVER AFTER YOU HAVE SELECTED FILES
TYPE EXIT AND WAIT IN ROOM!  IF IT SAYS YOU ARE IN QUEUES # YOU ARE ON HOLD UNTIL THAT NUMBER IS CALLED AND THE FILE WILL SEND AS LONG AS THE SERVER IS ON LINE  DO NOT STAY CHATTING WITH SERVER IT PURPOSLY BOOTS YOU SO YOU DO NOT STAY IN THE ROOM.
