Discovery I Lighting

Following the success I'd had with my first Discovery, I thought I'd upgrade the headlight bulbs in my Freelander to something a bit brighter than standard. Philips' premium halogen is now called 'X-treme Power', replacing their Vision Plus bulbs that I'd used previously, and claims to be 80% brighter than a standard bulb for the same power rating.

Anyway, for the sum of £20 a set were ordered from www.powerbulbs.com. They were fitted as soon as they arrived and I'm very pleased with the result.

I particularly wanted to fit them in the dark so that I could carry out this simple test: I pointed the front of my Freelander at my white garage door and photographed the reflected light from the headlights before and after the new bulbs were fitted. Whilst not being the most scientific of tests, I think that the following two photographs do illustrate the increased light output of the new bulbs.
