8th November, 2006

I've won a prize in a competition run by LR Monthly. The prize was supposed to be Bearmach springs and shocks, but as I don't really need them they've very generously sent me a winch instead! I'm now getting the bits together to make it demountable, front and rear.

5th November, 2006

I attended a winch training course that was organised by Landrox 4x4 for the Discovery Owners Club. Great fun!

4th November, 2006

Finally made some time to replace the seat cushion foam in the drivers seat with the new foam that I bought from Exmoor Trim months ago. What a difference - no longer do I slide into the door on corners!

Also had time to put a tin of 10K Boost through the engine. This is the second time I've used this stuff (although the last time was more than 10k miles ago) and once again I'm impressed with the difference it makes.

23rd and 24th September, 2006

Once again, I served as Clerk of the Course for the Abingdon 4x4 Festival, which this year has raised £10 300 for good causes.

18th September, 2006

Had a 12k service and some more of the preventative maintenance work identified in my 'Plans for the Future'. All carried out by Keith Gotts, as usual.

19th August, 2006

Finally got my new Patriot roof rack fitted!

16th August, 2006

It's been a busy (and expensive) couple of weeks as I work my way through the list of changes and updates that I've set myself. On the 1st I had the rubbers that hold the rear side windows and rear screen replaced by a windscreen company, as the originals had cracked quite severely at the corners.

On the 3rd I replaced the rear wiper motor, which had seized.
On the 8th I had the rear windows tinted...
...and on the 14th I had an Allisport uprated intercooler fitted.

25th June, 2006

I've taken the first step in preparing my Discovery for the next phase of its' life and sold my Safety Devices roof rack (see Plans for the Future). Although I've spent a lot of time researching what I want to do next, it was still a bit of a shame to see the rack go. The vehicle looks a bit, well, ordinary without it...

8th May, 2006

The latest addition to my Discovery isn't actually part of the vehicle itself, but instead is hung on the back. My wife and I have treated ourselves to this rather smart Avondale Land Ranger caravan, and very comfy it is too.

Following on from the above, our Desert Wolf Lynx expedition trailer is now for sale. You can read all about it here, and if you think it might be your thing then drop me a mail.

30th September, 2005

Well, the Abingdon 4x4 Festival has been and gone and what an excellent weekend it was. I managed to get my new rocksliders fitted the weekend before and then promptly did this to them whilst setting out the course! Still, at least I know the work I suppose...

4th August, 2005

The Land Rover show at Billing has come and gone and my bank balance is just about recovering. As my old Terrain Master rocksliders have seen better days, I've invested in a new set from Discoparts. They're currently sitting in my garage along with a few other bits and pieces, which I hope to get chance to fit next week.

After 3 years myTerrain Master rocksliders were looking very tired

28th June, 2005

An unexpected bit of spare time has seen me rub down and repaint my spare wheel bracket and fix a broken drivers door lock today. Woo hoo.

19th June, 2005

Following an incident in my office car park involving a lorry delivering fencing, my Discovery has spent the last week in a body shop having a minor repair made to the rear left-hand pillar above the light cluster. As a loan car, my insurers arranged for this:

It was billed as an 'equivalent vehicle' but boy was I glad to get my Discovery back!
