Welcome to my website.

These pages tell the story of life with my Land Rover Discovery, which is a 1995 300tdi 'S' model and was completely standard when I first took ownership in November 2001.

My aim since has been to create a vehicle that's adaptable for all the different things I want to use it for, including overland travel and camping, green laning and other off-tarmac driving. It must also serve as a general utility vehicle for lugging things about, as my everyday vehicle for travelling to and from work and other similar mundane journeys.

Inside you'll find details of the adventures it's taken me on and the modifications I've made to it along the way, as well as some of my other interests in the wider Land Rover world.

The old and the new, side by side for now

With a few bits and pieces removed, this is the final picture of my DI prior to it's sale. I hope the new owner has as much fun with it as I've had.

Latest News

1st April, 2008

Life has kept getting in the way of updating the site over the last year or so but, hopefully, that will change in the next few weeks. I've got plans for a major re-vamp so please bear with me.

A brief update in the meantime: the DII V8 shown below lasted about 6 months before being sold on. Good fun, but it turned out to be a complete money pit. When my wife announced that she'd like a DII of her own (a TD5 this time) it seemed like a good time to cut my losses.

I've briefly flirted with a 110, fulfilling a long-held ambition, but that's turned into a bigger project than I originally anticipated, so it too, is now to be sold.

Circumstances mean we'll probably just stick to the DII TD5 in terms of Land Rovers for a while, alongside a small car (dull but super efficient) for local jaunts. Ho hum.

The big news this month is that I've finally succumbed and bought this Discovery II, and it's about as different as you can get from my DI, in that it's a 4.0l V8 automatic.

I've already got ideas about how I'd like to develop this vehicle and, of course, I'll detail it all here. The website will also be getting a revamp to reflect this new direction.

Watch this space, as the saying goes!
