The Andean Striped Birdeater
(Lasiodora striatus)

This spider is one of the spices to show up only recently in shipment from Peru.
The genus is also very recently described, although this spider was at one time known or called the
pamphobeteus wallacei.
These are leggy monsters and are a grey colour but fade to a brown between molts.
They are pretty easy to keep in captivity not to agressive but they are quite active and need good houseing as they like to burrow. They do not need very moist conditions and will do well in moderate humidity.
