June 08 [part 2] Live video of Badly Worn Boys performing their acoustic version of the British punk classic 'Babylon's Burning' by The Ruts is now available on the Leftyamazed channel on You Tube. This performance was recorded during BWB's headlining slot in the glorious June sunshine outside Norwich Arts Centre during the St. Benedicts Street fair. Go straight to the vid. here, or find it on the 'video' page.

June 08 The wonderful event that is Gig In The Park in Halesworth, Suffolk, have confirmed that the Badly Worn Boys will be appearing on the Jungle Stage on Sunday 3rd August 2008 at 3pm. Also check out the Reepham Arts & Music festival website by clicking this extraordinarily long link!

April 08 More spring and summer gigs are now confirmed, with the boys playing at the Hog In Armour, Charing Cross, Norwich on Thursday April 10th 2008 (Go Acoustic); The Ocean Room, Gorleston, Norfolk on Saturday 3rd May 2008 (Later with...); North Elmham Music Festival at The Railway, North Elmham, Norfolk on Bank Holiday Monday, 5th May; Camp Bestival, Lulworth Castle, Dorset, 18th - 20th July 2008; and Reepham Arts & Music Festival, Reepham, Norfolk, on Saturday 28th July 2008. Further Badly Worn Boys events will hopefully be announced soon!

Other news - check out the videos page to see BWB performing live (warts and all) in the Cafe Bar at Norwich Arts Centre on Saturday 22nd March, courtesy of the 'Play The Music' acoustic showcase and You Tube. Anyone interested in acoustic music should check out these events - they occur once a month on a Saturday afternoon at Norwich Arts Centre... Good, wholesome food; nice real ales drawn from the barrel and live acoustic music! It sure beats pushing round the shops if you ask me!

Feb 08 Festival time! Badly Worn Boys have just been confirmed to play at Camp Bestival on Saturday 19th July 2008 at Lulworth Castle in Dorset. The three day event runs from Friday 18th to Sunday 20th July 2008 and is the new sister of the successful Isle of Wight Bestival - brainchild of Radio1 DJ Rob Da Bank. Camp Bestival will have a distinctly 1950's holiday camp feel to it and with tickets limited to only 10,000, it promises to be an intimate affair. Other acts include Chuck Berry, The Flaming Lips, Suzanne Vega, Billy Bragg and more...

Jan 08 Here we are posing in the studios of Radio Cambridgeshire after a last minute rehearsal (in what was effectively a store room) before appearing live on the Sue Marchant show. The show was great fun and we chatted about loads of stuff including recycling which is exactly what we are doing with all these old punk songs... hopefully we'll get the whole thing on this site as a free mp3 download soon - watch this space. Jan 08 part 2 - we now have an embryonic myspace for the dubious delight of the global family, so check out www.myspace.com/badlywornboys for yet more crap on East Anglia's smartest dressed acoustic punks (as Tim said in the interview with Sue "old punks never die, they just put suits on").

Dec 07 - Boys on the Beeb! I know it's been way too long since I posted any news but, in my defence, things have been pretty quiet in the last year or more for those who are Badly Worn. Now, though, I can tell you that, following the success of their gig supporting John Otway in November, Badly Worn Boys will be playing LIVE ON AIR on the Sue Marchant show on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. This event happens on Friday 28th December at around 8:15pm (check out gigs for details of FM frequencies). Those of you who can't wait 'till then (or have missed it), you can find some video clips of BWB performing live at the Otway gig on the all-new and unimaginatively titled video page, or by visiting You Tube and searching for us! Also, with the kind permission of splintered records you can now get the middle age kicks e.p. for free from our free mp3's page, complete with a jpeg of the cover if you fancy burning a CD (or just stick it on yer ipod). So here's yuletide greetings to you all, and what could be better on the Friday after Chrimbo than to tune in to East Anglia's very own version of the 'Live Lounge' and hear your favourite acoustic punk rockers display their musical nakedness to the nation!

May 05 Well, it's been a while since I posted any news... but finally there is some worthy of putting up! The boys have been hard at work in the studio recording a new CD entitled 'Middle Age Kicks', featuring 3 punk classics arranged for acoustic guitars. No surprise that the first track is a reworking of the Undertones classic 'Teenage Kicks', with a distinctly 'Yee Hah' feel to it! There is also a sweet and jolly pop version of 'In The City' by The Jam, and a bit of bluegrass sprinkled on the Sex Pistols 'Pretty Vacant'. Check out the gigs pages for details of where you can find us and buy a copy for only £2.00, or order a copy on-line from splintered records.co.uk.

Jul 04 After several successful gigs around East Anglia, we have finally recorded and released an e.p. of acoustic versions four classic punk songs. Called, imaginatively, 'The Punk e.p.', it is available from splintered records.co.uk for £2.00 plus p&p, and a jolly good listen it is too...

Nov 03 Well, this is the first piece of news about badly worn boys... the only news, really, at the moment is that we exist, and we have done a couple of gigs in the seemingly ever expanding wastelands of the east anglian peninsular, where we, for our sins, live breath and make music. What we are all about is stripping away the multi-layered soundscapes that we have come to know as popular music, and getting to the core. We have found that some songs have a solid core which can stand unsupported, but many have a rotten core that collapses with the removal of the outer skin. Sometimes, a twist will inject some stability to a potentially rotten core, and so we have done just that to some of the songs in our repertoire. The net result should soon become an e.p. of four classic punk songs, twisted into the BWB shape.

Oct 03 A new website - gagging to be populated with cool stuff... This should happen in time, so please keep on visiting to see how the site is progressing and check on the progress of Badly Worn Boys...
