We are witnessing a dramatic increase in the amount of litter that is being dropped on the roads and in our gardens. (Pictures above taken on 6 April in Tangmere Drive and all within a space of 10m.).

There is an abundance of “Coffee Nation” cups and “Bake&Bite” wrappers littering our neighbourhood. You may not be surprised to learn that these originally come from the recently opened Somerfield store. Also drunken youths are smashing bottles, as anyone in the area will witness on every Saturday and Sunday morning.

Cardiff Council granted a license to Somerfield to sell Hot Food & Beverages for 22 hours every day. This would seem to be an oversight because the council now must deal with the disgusting increase in litter and this will be an extra drain on their resources. No extra rubbish bins have been provided by the council and Somerfield don’t see it as their problem.
