Pushing Daisies [Season 1, Episode 1]
Pie-lette
This takes the Magic Realism of Wonderfalls to an extreme length, wrapping it up in OTT trappings reminiscent of Lemony Snickett . Jim Dale's sickly-sweet narration is the icing on the cake (or pie, if you prefer).
The Pie-Maker is owner/manager/chef of a restuarant, the Pie Hole. He has a superpower - he can magically revive dead people, but only for 60 seconds. This power comes in useful for solving murders ...
The pie-maker's newest corpse is his childhood friend, Charlotte 'Chuck' Charles ( Anna Friel ). He can't bring himself to return her to death when her minute is up ... but if he ever touches her again, she'll die for certain.
