This was directed by horror maestro Tobe Hooper , based on a short story by Ambrose Bierce [Incident at Owl Creek].

A man goes crazy with a shotgun, and tries to murder his young son. The man is brutally disembowelled by an invisible force, and the boy grows up to be ... the Town Sheriff, Sean Patrick Flannery [ Young Indiana Jones Chronicles ].

The anniversary of the slaughter comes around, and people start to go crazy. Creepy priest Ted Raimi [ Xena: Warrior Princess ] seemed unhinged even before the violence took hold. The Sheriff tries to save his wife and son - but will history repeat itself?
