Curing Cancer

Thank you for taking the time to visit this site.

Inspired by the dire circumstances a fellow SciFi fan has found himself in, I have dedicated myself to fundraising for Action Cancer . They're running a number of sponsored challenges in 2007, and depending on how much money I can raise I plan to complete at least one.

I'm planning to complete a sponsored ascent of Kilimanjaro . As a build-up I'm going to do some practice hikes, such as Ben Nevis !

The target is GBP 4,000

The deadline is December 2007


I gave some thought as to the best way of raising money. Housewives do cake sales, the Womens' Institute did a nude calendar [and the spin-off movie!] ... I decided to stick with what I know best - Sci-Fi and Fantasy books!

Proceeds to Charity

  • There are many books and DVDs listed on the ORB's Main Page . For every item bought, Fifty Percent of the proceeds will go to the charity fund!
  • My friend is a member of Irish Mensa , and members of the society have offered to help out. If you live in Ireland you might want to donate some old SciFi or Fantasy books, so they can be auctioned on the ORB's Ebay Page . If so, e-mail me . Proceeds of all sales will go to the charity fund.
  • Otherwise you can just sell it yourself and donate the proceeds with a secure PayPal Donation.
