“Sousafun” are two professional musicians (John is a tuba player, Tom is a clarinettist) with many years of experience between them, both in performance and in education. They have played for The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, The BBC Symphony Orchestra, The Philharmonia Orchestra, The Royal Opera, English National Opera, The Birmingham Royal Ballet and Glyndebourne Opera, and many others, both in Britain and abroad.
They have also provided the music for many TV, film and stage productions. (John used to appear on the children’s TV show “Rainbow” as the “Sousaphone Man”!) Some of the other famous groups that the members of Sousafun have played for include: Count Basie, Chris Rea and Oasis. Sousafun also appeared recently at the Ross-on-Wye International Festival.
As a didgeridooist, John played for the Australia Day quiz on Kiss FM, and for the soundtrack of “Hetty Wainthropp”! In May, 2008, he appeared as the soloist in two concerts with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Cadogan Hall, playing the solo didgeridoo part in “Dreamtime Tales” by Richard M. Brown.
