2nd March

I really have to stop saying that a huge a amount of time has passed since the last input on these pages - but the truth is I've not done anything with the bike. I've been too busy, and it's been Winter.

There's little we can do to give the bike more power without finding the ellusive larger carbs that would fit into the RS framed package. Besides, I'm happy with the power, and I'm under no illusion that the best benefits would come from improving the handling. Tickering has all but stopped, and while there's a few bits and bobs I could do with reapiring/fixing, I've avoided doing them until I decide whether I'm going to keep the bike on the road, or turn it into a track-focussed bike. I don't know! So many ideas, now time - and I suspect that I'll continue to procrastinate.

On a more positive note though - I am heading to the IoM in April for a long weekend. We are heaidng ove rtehre to meet up with an old mate, and I'll be taking the bike with me. The plan is for a quick trackday at Jurby circuit, some family entertainment, and I'll take the opportunity to enjoy the TT circuit. In fact I'm really looking forward to getting her fired up in the next few days to check all is well - it better be as I've just shelled out for insurance agian! So she's on the roa dfor another year at least.

On the 11th I'll be out at Snetterton at a practise day, though not with the RS500. It'll be the first time I've ridden the new race bike. Gawd, the last time I raced seemed like an age ago now. Two friends and myself are having our racing swan song in the KRC endurance series - which includes as one of it's rounds, and for the first time in UK racing history, a 24 hour round. My nerves are starting to jangle, and questions about fitness, skill, and bike capability are all about to be answered.
