Living and working in South Wales, it is impossible not to feel a part of the dramatic landscape with its depth and richness of history, culture and mythology. I am proud to have witnessed the return of nature to this once scarred industrial landscape. The pits have now returned to the history books. The land has healed itself and the dust has cleared to reveal our ancient roots and our future path.

From stone age cave paintings to the metal work of the bronze and iron ages, through to the ancient welsh texts and mythologies, to the stone circles with their timeless druids, I find every blade of grass, every breeze that blows and every word created here inspirational.

My travels have taken me from the Western Isles of Eire to the Steppes of Eastern Europe. The eye-opening Celtic experiences I enjoyed have had such a profound influence on my work, it can only be described as revolutionary.

In the spiral of time, I am two thousand years ago and now.

Death
I was fed up with the classic image of death,
i.e. an asthmatic pile of bones going around
in a bad mood! This is more celtic as it shows
a natrual transition, muscle between flesh and bone,
death between this world and the next.
