Black
Combe House is only 5 minutes from the beach, the golf club, an equestrian centre
, nature reserve and beautiful countryside. Here, where the mountains do reach
down and touch the sea, time passes wonderfully slowly.
The coast line is a magnet for all kinds of people. Quiet strollers hand-in-hand,
or families with a dog or two, kite-flying enthusiasts mastering the wind and
sand-yachters waiting patiently for acres of smooth sand to harden into a runway.
Not far from Black Combe House, you can catch a train and travel along the coast
both North and South. A delightful way to relax and enjoy the view.
For those keen to capture the subtle colours of Black Combe Country, there's
endless scope for painters and photographers, and if contours are your challenge,
climb Black Combe and wish for more time in this barely-discovered corner of
Cumbria.
