Whilst appearing in numerous folk and rock bands playing guitar, mandolin, bass and flute, his main rôle for the last 11 years has been lead singer, flautist and acoustic guitarist for the UK’s premier Jethro Tull tribute band, The Dayglo Pirates. The band has performed with original members including Clive Bunker, Barrie Barlow, David (now Dee) Palmer, Glen Cornick and Dave Pegg. He has appeared on radio and on stage with lead singer Ian Anderson and the current Jethro Tull at their Bournemouth Pavilion show on 16th April 2008.
Paul was introduced to Tull by a musician friend when he was 18. It inspired him to take up the flute and learn the songs of Jethro Tull. Once bitten, forever smitten! Paul has also produced several “Relaxation CDs” (see Forrest Records and Music Of The Trees for details) and is currently working with his new partner, Marcie Schreier, on CDs of original music and performing these and the subtler, acoustic Tull numbers with Marcie in the band Sossity.
