Gearbox before dismantling

The plug that contains the counter-shaft clip. It's 14mm allan key size and takes a bit of removing. Once in there ...

Remove the circlip inside here, this holds the casing to the end of the countershaft and prevents the casing being split until you open it up.

Mainshaft and countershaft in the casing still, reverse gear idler and selectors removed.

.. another angle of the same.

Reverse gear on the bench. No wonder it whines when you go quickly ! this engages first gear but driven via this single gear it obviously goes round the other way.

Selector forks, weird looking things.

Mainshaft on the bench. 5th gear is the one on the top, the synchro shows no signs of wear even though it did used to grind very slightly if you didn't match the revs well.

Layshaft still in situ. Awaiting dismantling to get at the faulty 2nd gear (near bottom)

artistic nonsense :)
