Simon is the founder member of the band and spent three years writing tunes and trying to find musicians capable of playing them (about a dozen people have tried, the tunes are unintentionally difficult, they just come out that way!).
Simon took up classical guitar at age 11 and has studied with some top names of the classical guitar world and also has a degree in jazz. He’ll have a go at any instrument with strings on and has performed a fair bit on didgeridoo.
Simon has performed solo material from folk songs, classical, flamenco and his own acoustic style compositions in folk clubs, restaurants, weddings in many parts of England and Australia.
Simon plays a custom hand built acoustic guitar by David Lipkin with
Newtone Master Class strings (.010-.046). Because the soundboard is so thin it has a
Baggs LB6 pickup in it and a Baggs Feedback Master preamp to cut down on howls.
His didj is made by a bloke www.anticearthworks.co.uk in the west country from sycamore
and when I find his card I’ll put the details up ‘cos he makes brilliant didges.
