Nerys Hughes Todd In The
Hole
Key Ingredients: plain flour, egg, milk, sausages
Spending all that time in a cardboard jungle, we suspect Ner never had much time for cooking, hence this deceptively simple dish made from (essentially) flour, water and some meaty sausage.
HaRpi's Assistant Chef Lady P conjured up the batter mix by first adding the egg and some milk to the flour, then stirring in the remaining flour and beating 'til smooth. Finally, this already delicious looking mixture was poured over the
sausy's.

HaRpi's Moist Oven was then fired up, and the dish popped in. Now time to knock up some drinks while the wretched thing cooks.

Nerys Says: "I find this dish to be a good standby if unexpected guests arrive"
Key Ingredients: curaceo,
champagne/sparkling white wine, soda water, brandy, icing sugar, nectarines, raspberries
To accompany Nerys' Toad, we decided to adopt the recipe of one Nicola Bryant, who's contributions to the book all rather suspiciously exist in the 'alcoholic beverages' section. We decided to start with the first of several of Nicola's fruity punches.

To start off Nicola's promising party-time creation, we mixed the curaceo, brandy and finally champagne/soda water together, before sifting in the icing sugar. Then we chucked in lots of ice, so this (frankly) suicide cocktail of a mixture wouldn't kill us before we got to taste Nerys Hole.

Finally, the fruit was washed, prepared and added.

By the time we'd done all this, DING!, the main course was ready and required retrieving from the oven. Da da!

The Verdict!
Nerys 'Todd' in the
Hole was tasty, but we suspect she spent more time thinking up the incredibly witty name than thinking about the
ingredients. As concessions to the recipe, we made mash to go with it, and also used Tesco's Finest Pork and Leek Sausages. HaRpi and P-Bal's
Top Tip for this recipe is to leave the dish to cook for longer than Nerys suggests, to ensure the batter is not a thing of woe.
Health Factor: A Nerys on the lips is probably two inches on the hips. The thoughtless dame spares no thought to weight watchers with her fatty recipe, though P-Bal adding a pint of cream to the mash probably didn't help.
Nicola's Nectarine Cup punch was delicious, better than we'd thought it would be considering the wino's shopping list of
ingredients. Concessions to the recipe included using more brandy, as Nicola's generous
ingredients list left us with £60 worth of alcohol left over.
Top Tip for this recipe is to make it in summer time, when the nectarine's don't have the
biteable texture of granite.
Health Factor: Should be part of every binge drinker's daily diet!
