Milky Way - Corfu

Date: 10th June 2008

Equipment:: Canon 400D, 18mm lens at F5.6, on an Astrotrac mount.

Exposure: 7 x 10 minute subs at ISO1600.

Processing: Stacked in DeepSkyStacker, Postprocessing in PixInsight Core 1.1

Comments: On a model flying holiday in the middle of Corfu, Greece. The bright object at the left is Jupiter. This shows the brightest parts of the Milky Way at the bottom of the image, corresponding to the center of our galaxy. The lighter circular patches are ghost images of the bright street lights that were just out of the field of view.

Credits: Many thanks to Mark Hill for loan of his Astrotrac mount without which this image could never have been captured.
