- The Whirlpool Galaxy
Date: 3rd March 2007 Equipment:: Celestron Nexstar 8" SCT with Canon 400D at prime focus. Exposure: 3 x 3 minute subs at ISO1600. Processing: Stacked in DeepSkyStacker and processed in PaintshopPro. Comments: A really beautiful classic face on spiral galaxy close to the handle of the Big Dipper in Ursa Major. Its really the after effect of a collision between two galaxies. Credits: Many thanks to Bill Scott for loan of his Celestron Nexstar telescope. |
