M42
- The Orion Nebula & The Running Man Nebula
Date: 10th January 2008 Equipment:: Canon 400D with a Tamron 500mm F8 mirror lens piggy backed on the Celestron. Exposure: 3 x 5 minute subs at ISO1600. Processing: Stacked in DeepSkyStacker and processed in PixInsight. Comments: This was my second attempt at astrophotography with just a camera lens. Again the subject is too large for the Celestron telescope and therefore a 500mm lens was needed. Thanks again to Simon Cuthbert who lent me his 500mm lens. M42 is the large area of nebulosity to the right of center, whilst the Running Man nebula is the smaller area to the left of center. Credits: Many thanks to Bill Scott for loan of his Celestron Nexstar telescope and to Simon Cuthbert for loan of his Tamron 500mm F8 lens. |
