Ginetta G33 4.5 litre 275 bhp Rover V8

The car is powered by a Rover V8 with a Rover 5 speed gear box. It has around 275 bhp with power throughout the rev range. It has twin stainless steel exhausts system which were fitted from new which make it sound glorious !!. A lot of people say it is the only car that sounds better than a TVR !!  It has a cosworth rear differential with sierra cosworth vented disc brakes all round. This is a car with no driver aids however !! There is no power steering, no servo assisted brakes, no ABS, etc. The suspension has been stiffened over standard and the car has had the corner weights measured meaning that there is an equal weight at each wheel. The car currently runs on Bridgestone SO2's 215/50/15.

Engine.

The car was built from new with performance in mind. The engine was built from new by J.E. Engineering, specialists with the Rover V8 engine. It is a fully lightened and balanced blueprinted 4.5 litre engine. The block was bored out to a 4.2 spec but a shorter throw crank was used making it into a 4.5 litre capacity. It has a tuftrided balanced crankshaft, stage three big valve heads with double valve springs and bronze guides, fully polished and ported. It has a JE 101 camshaft, roller vernier and high lifters. The compression is stated as 9.75:1. It still uses the EFi fuel injection system but has been re-mapped for the changes already outlined. It also has a dry sumped lubrication system with oil cooler.

Chassis and Suspension.

It has an all tubular steel chassis with coil springs and adjustable AVO shock absorbers all round. The chassis has been strengthened and the suspension stiffened. The ride is firm but perfectly balanced as the corner weights have been measured meaning that there is near on an equal weight at each wheel.

Wheels and Tyres

The wheels are the original Fondmetal 7" * 15" alloy wheels fitted with Bridgestone SO2 pole position 215/50/15 low profile tyres.
