Northern Tang Soo Do opened in January 2003 and is a member of the World Tang Soo Do Association.  The club meets 3 times a week to train at Rye Hills School in Redcar.

We have students varying in age from 5 years old to over 50 years old, training in a friendly family atmosphere.

New members from the age of 5 years and over (we have no upper age limit) are always welcome and can be assured of a friendly introduction to our art and class.

The first lesson is free and the sessions consist of a period of warm-up and stretching followed by formal training of basic techniques, hyungs (structured routines of kicks and hand techniques), self- defence and sparring. Higher grades also train with weapons.

Every 3 months Master C. Carter from Cambridgeshire comes to our club and holds a seminar and gup (coloured belt) grading test for our students. The club also competes in several competitions across the country each year (see Calendar) and also holds other social activities.
