What's Up, Matt?
It's been a while, I know. When I first launched this site back in March of 1999 I intended to update Matt's Mind on a regular basis. Unfortunately, other things -- namely life -- got in the way and the best of my intentions went out the window. OK, so I have managed to update the Cool Links, Matt's Music, Matt's Macabre and The Modern Guitarist sections so don't be too harsh on me!
The last year has involved me in a hideous amount of work. What with writing various articles, conducting interviews, putting together the official website of best-selling author, Graham Masterton, starting a HNC in Computing, not to mention having a full-time job and working most weekends over the summer, you might say that I've been ... well, fully occupied. Am I making excuses for myself? Probably not. It's been a genuinely frantic year and I can't see things slowing down in the immediate future. But what the hell ... what's life for if it's not for living?
Thanks to everyone who's emailed me since this site was launched. I'm genuinely touched to receive such complimentary comments regarding the site. Indeed, I receive at least one email from somebody new every week, and let me tell you, there's nothing I enjoy more than getting mail, complimentary or otherwise. What constantly amazes me is that people who have stumbled by accident upon the site are often deeply affected by the articles and interviews that I've included. In some cases, I've received emails from people saying that such-and-such an article changed their whole outlook on something, whether it be guitar or horror/fantasy/science fiction-oriented. There were times during the creation of the site when I became so frustrated with the html that I was all ready to jack the whole thing in. So when I receive such encouraging letters it always makes my day. Sometimes it makes my week. And, of course, it makes the whole thing worthwhile.
So, please keep sending your comments and suggestions for improvements. I always enjoy reading what you have to say, and, dear reader, if this is the first time you've reached my site, welcome! I'm more than happy to make your acquaintance.
Keep those emails coming...
