The players’ first objective will be to build and run industrial complexes using a force of remote-controlled robots to mine the planet’s resources and develop a technological base. A sophisticated marketplace allows players to trade with each other by auction, contract or straight purchase.

The longer-term aim is to build and fly spaceships. Players will form co-operatives to launch bigger and better spaceships, racing to beat the competition to explore the solar system and exploit its wealth. Expansion into space will enable players to build orbital habitats, deep space freighters, solar-sailing yachts, asteroid mining facilities and many other space installations. All will be part of the continuing story of the new space-faring culture.

Each player will choose their own goals, as they seek wealth, influence, status and achievement. You may become for example a specialist producer, transport tycoon, used robot trader, bulk manufacturer, miner, explorer or spaceship owner.

The game will unfold over an extended period of time: instead of spending hours glued to a monitor, you will dip in and out of the game, keeping an eye on current market conditions and making strategic decisions when it suits you. This unique game will become part of your life – but not take it over.

What Technology is Used?

Stellar Pioneers runs in a web browser. All strategy code is server-side, thus ensuring that players can access their land, robots and trading screens from any internet-enabled computer, at any time.

There is no graphics engine to download and install: maps and management screens are generated using html and Javascript.
