Viking TextilesI've used these pages to ramble on about some of the aspects of Viking textiles that interest me. The Scandinavian peoples of the Viking Age, a.k.a. "The Vikings", practised a range of textile crafts some of which are still not widely known outside Scandinavia. These include nalbinding, sprang and tablet-weaving. It is convenient for me that these crafts generally require smaller, cheaper equipment than is needed to weave cloth. |
