RISC OS, pronounced 'risk oss', is a computer operating system. RISC OS first appeared in 1987 as the operating system of the Acorn Archimedes range of computers. For the Archimedes, Acorn Computers Ltd also designed their own 32-bit RISC microprocessor, the Acorn Risc Machine (ARM), because no existing processor suited their needs. RISC OS stands for Reduced Instruction Set Computer Operating System. RISC OS is believed by many to be the most user-friendly and stable operating system in the computing world today. Unlike other desktop computer-based operating systems, most of RISC OS resides in ROM, so corruption of the operating system as a result of user error or by a computer virus is practically impossible. Although the RISC OS brand is now owned by Castle Technology Ltd, RISCOS Ltd are responsible for desktop computer releases. |
Magnetic Scrolls was a British computer game developer during the mid 1980s and early 1900s. Their primary focus was the development of cutting edge text adventure games (also known as interactive fiction) on a variety of 8-bit and 16-bit home computer platforms. Here you will find a collection of tutorials that I have written for DeskLib, which have been compiled using GCC. Here is a collection of games that have been written or that are currently under development A collection of links to other RISC OS dedicated sites. |
