Shane Ward
The Original Musician,
Author, Poet and More
Shane Ward is 49 years old and is living the kind of frustrating life that famous people live before they die in obscurity and only then become famous. This usually involves hard work for no recognition with some discontent, poverty and a predisposition towards obsessive self marketing thrown in. Shane is obviously keen to benefit from some of his efforts during the period of time that oxygen is, to him, still an enjoyable - albeit somewhat necessary - resource.
In this web site you will discover both the serious and funny side of a mind too diverse to be slotted into a prepared space that is reserved, metaphorically, for common and rather dull looking city birds. Stay long enough and you will find books, short stories, music, poetry, blogs, political solutions, the odd silly short film and the occasional mundane astrology prediction. It is hoped that you will laugh, cry, get angry, be inspired and, importantly, feel that you might be impressed enough to suggest this site to every breathing human on the planet with Internet access.
Buying books and music directly through the links on this site is positively encouraged. People with good taste and sound character have been known to do this. You will also notice that there is some free stuff too, which is undoubtedly a brazen marketing ploy to get you to stay a bit longer and - hopefully - be impressed and blown away enough to purchase a gift for yourself and maybe even one for a friend.
Shane is an ideas machine, whether it be for product, politics, presentation or promotion. In business for example, there is an opportunity to create a site for the travel industry that would command top spot in European travel. Want to know what it is? It is... worth money to anyone serious enough to want to make money. Other ideas are to be shared, like the only proportional representation system that guarantees 99.6% of votes cast would count in a UK general election (see 'Political Solutions'). Shane is open to offers for work or consultation where the experts have come in, charged you an absolute fortune for a voluminous (and generally worthless) report and still failed to solve the problem but left you a few extra ones of their own.
Well that's the intro for you. Where you go from here is up to you. Click on any of the pictures or use the menu at the top of the page. There is a guest book if you wish to leave a comment, question or job offer. Shane is UK based but don't let that stop you sending him a plane ticket.

Comedy Sketch by Shane Ward on You Tube
Shane Ward's Autobiography 'Walking The Path'.
"Why am I here? What is my purpose in life?" Imagine what it would be like if you actually found out the answer to these questions. In what way could it change your life or your perspective of it at the very least? Everyone will ask themselves these kind of questions at some time in their life but few come close to a useful answer. Perhaps the big questions were too broad. Perhaps they were the wrong questions entirely. Shane spent many years knowing that there was a more useful question to be asked but didn't know what it was. 'Walking The Path' is primarily an autobiography but 'the question' plays a major role throughout.
'Walking The Path' was a free promotional book for a few years with over 5000 readers, which for a single site promotion suggests that it was a pretty good read. For the first time it is now available in paperback (see panel to the left for link).
Short Stories Occasionally there is time in one's busy life to write a short story. It is sometimes worth reading a short story to discover if one will 'get on' with the author before buying into a full size novel or non fiction work.
Just The Job Shane has embarked upon a possible career in comedy writing. 'Just The Job' is based in a UK Job Centre and explores the characters and attitudes of both the staff and customers regarding unemployment. It also explores some of the reasons why people are unemployed and what barriers exist to prevent them from getting a job. Episode 1 was acknowledged at the BBC Writersroom in September 2009. Watch this space.
Musical Compositions Shane was almost 30 years old when he temporarily broke through the musical glass barrier and almost signed up with Jet Star Records as a white singer performing Soca. It took only two weeks for the company to suddenly run out of funds so the project was never realised. Never the less it was one attempt out of many to break into the pop world.
Tim Rice was once quoted as saying something along the lines that when you submitted your demo to a record company, if you're very lucky, one of the secretaries might record her favourite album over your demo.
Andrew Lloyd Weber, on the other hand might be interested to know Shane's latest idea for a West End hit musical. For obvious reasons he can't tell you what it is but if Andrew wants to give him a call...
Fancy a laugh? How about some poetry? It may not seem to fit in with writing books and composing music but Shane Ward has already clocked over 60 funny poems on Authors Den. There are so many to choose from it would be unfair to single one out. Occasionally, however, you will find the odd serious poem, which is only natural; one can't be funny all of the time.
Tall StoriesIt has been rumoured that Shane is working on a couple of novels and even has enough material to produce a rather strange little book about the art of passing wind. Well if you heard it then it is probably true. Works in progress can be found at the top left of this page. Please feel free to rummage through the create swamp of what might be.
